Dr Francois Grignon
Dr Fran�ois Grignon has worked in East Africa since 1993 and is the outgoing deputy-director of the French Institute for Research in Africa (IFRA), based in Nairobi. He is a graduate from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and holds a PhD in Political Science from Montesquieu University in Bordeaux, France. His research has focused principally on the democratisation processes in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, electoral studies, and the changing political economy of these countries under structural adjustment programs. He joined ICG's Nairobi-based Central Africa team as senior political analyst in spring 2000.
