Kathy Ward

Kathy Ward is Deputy Director for the International Crisis Group in Washington, DC. Prior to joining ICG, she worked in a number of positions in the Bush and Clinton Administrations including on Africa in Ambassador Richard Holbrooke’s Washington office and as White House Fellow to Secretary Colin Powell, based in Policy Planning and working on Africa and AIDS. Before joining the government, she worked for NGOs and private firms in the Balkans, Central Asia, and New York on issues ranging from commercial transactions to refugees and war crimes. A lawyer by training, she is a graduate of Yale, the University of Chicago and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
