CrisisWatch is a 12-page monthly bulletin designed to provide busy readers in the policy community, media, business and interested general public with a succinct regular update on the state of play in all the most significant situations of conflict or potential conflict around the world.

Published at the beginning of each calendar month, CrisisWatch:

  • summarises briefly developments during the previous month in some 60 situations of current or potential conflict, listed alphabetically by region, providing references and links to more detailed information sources;

  • assesses whether the overall situation in each case has, during the previous month, significantly deteriorated, significantly improved, or on balance remained more or less unchanged;

  • alerts readers to situations where, in the coming month, there is a particular risk of new or significantly escalated conflict, or a particular conflict resolution opportunity, noting that in some instances there may in fact be both; and

  • summarises ICG reports and briefing papers that have been published in the last month.

CrisisWatch is available in electronic and print versions. The electronic version is free and is available on our website and by email notification. Email notifications are currently sent to all our report subscribers. If you do not currently subscribe to ICG reports, and would like to subscribe to the electronic version of CrisisWatch, click here.

Printed copies of CrisisWatch are available for a yearly subscription fee of 60, including postage anywhere in the world. Click here to go to the print subscription page, or click here if you wish to download a payment form and fax it to us.

CrisisWatch is compiled by ICG’s Brussels Research Unit, drawing on multiple sources including the resources of our more than 90 staff members across five continents, who already report on some 40 of the situations listed in CrisisWatch. We welcome your feedback. To email us with your comments, click here.
