Noel Atama

Noël Atama is from the Democratic Republic of Congo and joined ICG's Central Africa Project as Junior Research Analyst in October 2003 after interning in the Brussels office for four months. Prior to joining ICG, he worked at the office of the President of his country as the Personnel manager of the department of logistics and as the Assistant to the Special Assistant to the President of the Republic. In Summer 1999, Noël was selected to participate in a training on Conflict Resolution in the United States, a regional project for Young African Leaders sponsored by Fulbright program under the auspices of the United States Information Agency. Fluent in French, Italian, Swahili and Lingala, Noël holds a B.A and an M.A degree in Philosophy with Honours at "Les Facultés Catholiques de Kinshasa" and an M.A in Government and Politics focusing on international affairs from St.John's University, New-York and Rome campuses. He is the Honorary Citizen of the State of Georgia.
