Fernando Mora

Mr. Fernando Mora is Project Director for Colombia / Andean Region at the International Crisis Group. He has been counsellor to the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe for the last two years and invited-expert for the World Health Organization and the International Committee of the Red Cross. He has worked in different fields of Human Rights (health, refugee, missing persons, minorities rights, conflicts resolution, good offices, international humanitarian law, etc.) as a lawyer in Switzerland, Canada and Colombia. He has also worked as a magistrate in Switzerland and in Colombia. For two-and-a half years he has participated in various international missions in the Balkans as Human Rights Officer, Chief Commissioner in Kosovo and Election Commissioner Supervisor in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, and Serbia. Mr. Mora has a law degree with strong background in International Public law and he has taught International Human Rights and International Humanitarian law as well in Switzerland, Kosovo and Colombia. Mr. Mora is author of several reports and books chapters in his area of expertise. Mr. Mora is a member of the pool of negotiations experts from the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
