| Dr Harold Crouch
Dr Harold Crouch joined ICG as director of the Group's new Indonesia project in spring 2000. Dr Crouch first worked in Indonesia from 1968 to 1971 as a lecturer in political science at the University of Indonesia and has been regularly visiting Indonesia ever since. His book, The Army and Politics in Indonesia, was published by Cornell University Press in 1978. An Indonesian translation of this book was banned in 1986 but re-published in the new atmosphere of 1999. Dr Crouch also taught political science at the National University of Malaysia between 1976 and 1990 and is the author of Government and Society in Malaysia, published in 1996. Since 1991 he has been a Senior Fellow in the Department of Political and Social Change, Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies at the Australian National University. << back
