Dr Greg Austin
Dr Greg Austin, an author of works on China and Russia, joined the International Crisis Group in February 2000 as the Group's Asia Program Director after holding a variety of professional and academic appointments in the field of international affairs: Fellow in the Research School of Pacific and Asian Studies at the Australian National University; personal staffer of a Minister in the Australian Government; defence and foreign affairs correspondent for the Sydney Morning Herald; Secretary of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade Committee of the Australian Senate; and analyst for the Department of Defence in Canberra. He also worked for three years at the Australian Commission in Hong Kong reporting on China.
