Miranda Vickers
Miranda Vickers joined ICG in 1997 as the Group's Albania expert. She is currently also an advisor to the UK Parliament's Foreign Affairs Select Committee on Kosovo. In the early 1980s Miranda spent five years in Greece teaching English to Greek children and later taught Greek to American servicemen. It was there that she developed an interest in all things Balkan. She first went to Albania in 1988 and has visited the country on a regular basis ever since, often for extended periods of time, conducting research on a variety of aspects of Albanian politics and society. She is the author of Between Serb and Albanian: A History of Kosovo (1998) as well as numerous essays and articles.
