Mark Thompson (Balkans Program Director) has been a political officer and analyst for several United Nations peace operations in the Balkans, and the spokesman and media affairs director for the OSCE mission in Croatia. He is the author of "A Paper House. The Ending of Yugoslavia" (1992) and "Forging War. The Media in Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina" (1994 and 1999). He contributed to "Unfinished Peace", the 1996 report of the Aspen-Carnegie International Commission on the Balkans. << back
