Valerie Percival
Valerie Percival joined ICG in December 2001. Val has worked on Kosovo since the NATO intervention, first in Ottawa for the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and then in Pristina for the Canadian International Development Agency. Prior to this work on Kosovo, she was a field officer for UNHCR in Guinea. Val has also worked as a researcher on environment and conflict with the Peace Research Institute, Oslo (PRIO) and the University of Toronto. She is currently working on her Doctorate in Public Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. While her topic is on health reform in Kosovo, other research interests include health and security, the impact of conflict on health systems, HIV and security, and health as a peacebuilding tool.
